Mouse not moving/return to the same spot when trying to move the mouse

Make sure nothing is touching the SmartBoard (Example: student, chair, coat, backpack, paper/posters etc.). Even the smallest object can register as a touch on the SmartBoard.

Make sure there is no stickers on or around the SmartBoard drawing area. Anything making contact with the Smartboard will register as a touch.

Check to make sure there is no physical damage/dents/scratches/writing/drawing on the white drawing surface. Any damage to the SmartBoard will tend to lock the mouse to the area of damage until disconnected from the PC.
